We enjoyed both dinner and lunch at the Ocean Grill on our recent visit to St. John.
The food was Fabulous! Our lunch was so good we went back for dinner. The Snapper was prepared perfectly and our server Diane was charming and attentive. It was quite warm on the island while we were there, and the outside dining was beautiful, shaded and just the right breeze. Don't miss out on desert! The coconut cake was great with my fish tacos at lunch and for dinner - the key lime pie. YUM YUM YUM. We would definitely go back to the Ocean Grill on our next visit. We've tried most of the restaurants on St. John and this was by far the very best. The Ocean Grill is the place to go if you are on St. John.

We were on St. John May 9-14, 2010. We ate well, including Asolare, Zozo's, Rhumb Lines, La Tapa, and Ocean Grill. We had eaten at most before, but not Ocean Grill. Main courses were delicious and had surprisingly large portions as compared to others. THE DESSERTS WERE THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD, ANYWHERE. We went back a 2nd night just for dessert. All of our restaurant choices were great, but Ocean Grill was a surprise and stood out.

No doubt this would be top 5 in Cruz Bay if it were right on the water

We went the first week of May and probably had our best meal - better than Zozo's, The Equator and Morgan's Mango. Not that we had a bad meal at those places, its just that the quality and service here were clearly better. The setting is really nice but I think it gets a little over-looked because its set on the interior of Mongoose Junction. But the architecture and materials used are really cool and its not like you're sitting "inside".

This was the third restaurant my wife and I ate at in St John. The mussel are sauted in a ginger coconut broth with garlic and onions. The dish had layers and layers of flavor and at the same time the bread for sopping up the juice gave it a great comfort food feel. As for the mussels they were very tender and fresh. I had the seared salmon for dinner and it was very fresh, light and crispy at the edges. The roasted eggplant verde added a rustic note that paired well with the petite sirah. Lastly, all of our food was hot, cooked to perfection and a generous portion.

Fine dining, beautiful atmosphere and large portions. No faults.

Decided to dine here last night and was very pleased. It's situated in Mongoose Junction, in an open courtyard with tall trees and a jungle feel.
I ordered the black pepper crusted seared tuna entree for $38. It was worth the price, seared perfectly and a large portion. I took half home. The rest of my party made positive comments in regard to their entrees and portions. Nice wine selection. Samuel was our waiter and couldn't have been more attentive without being intrusive.
Highly recommended for a great dining experience while on St John.

If you are in St. John for any legnth of time, do yourself a favor and visit Ocen Grill in Mongoose Junction. Dinner was awesome, but the desserts were to die for. They were some of the best desserts I have ever had. We were wishing we had more time so we could go back for more.
